Smart with the Smart Car
Nicolas Hayek who invented the trendy Swatch is also credited with making the Smart Car. The eight foot two and one half inches in length and less than five feet in width Smart car is about five feet tall. This allows the car to fit into smaller and tight parking spots and deliver extremely efficient fuel economy helping to save the environment. Its smaller size also allows two or three cars parked back to the curb to fit into a traditional curb side parking space.
Its appearance is unique reminding a cube. However, it handles corners with a greater degree of stability. One of the criticisms of the smaller Smart Car is its safety in a collision. To address this issue, Smart Car comes with a steel shell that is known as Tridion. It also includes an energy absorbing crumple zone in the front that can lessen the impact during a collision. Other valuable contribution to lessen the impact of a collision comes from the rear mounted engine. Body panels that are mounted to the Tridion frame is recyclable and easy to replace. The Smart car can make your daily trip to the grocery store not only safe but also economical.
