Environmentally friendly plug-in hybrid Chevy Volt
The General Motors cut the price of its plug-in Volt by $5,000 recently. This will allow the Chevy Volt better compete with hybrids and bring electric car prices somewhat closer to similar vehicles. The 2013 Chevy Volt delivers an estimated 300-mile maximum range on one tank and a charged battery, and comes with excellent crash test records. But it is not a total electric car. It is an environmentally friendly plug-in hybrid and you can still use the HOV lanes in California and New York with it due to low emission package.
Drivers with less than 30 mile commute may need to charge the battery every night but not go to the gas station more often and those who commute 60 miles or more will exceed the electric range and will consume some gasoline. One improvement that 2013 Chevy Volt offers for its drivers is known as “Hold.” Those who commute freeways and local roads can save the battery by using “Hold” saving electric power for stop and go driving while electing to use gasoline on the freeway. The 2013 Chevy Volt is a midsize hatchback with seating for four. Other new options include center rear armrest and lane departure warning system.
