Entry level sporty luxury, IS 250, from Lexus

Since 2006, Lexus is making the sporty entry level yet luxury IS 250 vehicles. Since the begging precise steering, high quality interior, and lots of high tech touches have been the hallmark of Lexus IS 250. The 2014 Lexus IS 250 Sedan comes with a MSRP of $36,100 and you can still find the 2013 model in showrooms for $35,000.

The third generation 2014 IS 250s are redesigned to include new interior and exterior, increased size of rear seat and cargo space, safety features and improved steering. You can buy either rear wheel or all-wheel drive in 2.5-liter V6 in 204 horsepower with 185 pound-feet of torque. Unfortunately it comes only in 6-speed automatic transmission. 0-60 acceleration can be achieved in 7.5 seconds according to the manufacturer. Power hungry needs to go to IS 350 for additional performance. IS 250 comes with either 17-inch alloy wheels or 18-inch with F Sports package. IS 250 is option galore if you are willing to pay including LED headlights, rearview camera, lane departure warning and others.

Many buyers are puzzled with the IS 250’s lack of power. However, the newer vehicles managed to overcome the roominess and cramped back seat issues that plagued older models.
