Chevrolet Malibu Eco, a fuel miser
General Motors has redesigned the Chevrolet Malibu by reworking the mild-hybrid system. It is now contains “eAssist technology”, a state-of-art technology that conserve power. This new system improves miles per gallon (MPG) by about 12 percent.
The Malibu Eco shuts down its engine when stopped for a signal or sitting in gridlock traffic and immediately start when the accelerator pedal pressed down. This saves fuel consumption. It seamlessly switches between gas and lithium-ion battery power. The shutters in the grill open and close in order to cool the engine improving the fuel efficiency further. The transmission is seamless. The 2013 Malibu has plenty of shoulder room in front and rear, and has a big trunk. All controls are easy to find. The 2013 Malibu has been influenced by the athletic look of the Camaro in regard to the style.
The Malibu Eco has an improved estimated 25 mpg city and 37 mpg on the highway. It delivers 580 miles per tank on the highway. The 2.4-liter in-line delivers 182 hp total and 6-speed automatic transmission. Standard safety features include antilock disc brakes; front knee, front side, and side curtain air bags; and stability control. The base model cost $25,995.
