American compact that is roomier
Are you looking for a compact yet roomier car? Unlike European compacts like Volkswagen or Japanese Datsun in the past, most American so called compacts provides much more room. Look at Dodge Dart Limited. The 2.0-liter, in-line 4, 160 horsepower, and front wheel drive Dart comes with six speed automatic transmission. Dodge Dart delivers 24 City, 37 highway and 34 combined miles per gallon. Standard safety features include antilock disc brakes, front and rear side air bags, side curtain air bags, front knee air bags, stability and traction control, brake assist, and a backup camera. No wonder why IIHS rates it as a “good” top safety pick. The Limited starts around $27,790.
Chrysler stopped making Dart’s in the mid-1970s. But the current Italian owners of Chrysler, Fiat of Italy, reintroduced the Dart with a European favorite design of Alfa Romeo giving the driver a solid and secure feeling. Dodge calls it “comfort wrapped in performance.” The Car and Driver calls it still depicts “the dated chunkiness of the departed Caliber.” May be they are not impressed with 3,266 pound weight which is 515 pounds more than comparable Honda Civic. Even with cerrtain dislikes, the grown up Dart provides a comfortable ride.
