A compact SUV beauty from BMW
The smallest of the BMW SUVs is its X1 but comes loaded with utilities that many seek from a SUV. Debuted in 2013 it is smaller than flagship BMW X3 and cost less. The crossover sports activity vehicle starts just over $30,000.
The sDrive 28i and xDrive 28i comes with a 240-hp base engine, 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged, and produce 260 pounds-feet of torque. They come with eight-speed automatic transmission. The sDrive is rear wheel drive whereas the xDrive 28i is all wheel drive. The other model, xDrive 35i, is BMW’s top level trim for the model and delivers 300-hp, turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine and make 300 pound-feet of torque and comes with six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. Fuel economy ranges from 18-24 mpg in the city and 27-34 mpg on the highway. Obviously, the sDrive delivers the best mpg compared to the other, xDrive.
As you come to expect from BMW, the ride and the handling of the X1 is excellent. Most importantly it provides cargo space unparalleled to any other smaller SUV. The driver oriented inside cabin comes with a center console and dashboard slanted to the driver. The 2015 models are loaded with safety features and a delight to drive.
