Ralf Schumacher Ready to Rejoin Brother in F1
It might be a Schumacher family reunion in Formula One soon, according to a report by Motorsport.com. On the heels of Michael Schumacher’s return to the sport with the Mercedes team comes news that his younger brother Ralf Schumacher is ready to return to Formula One racing if the right opportunity comes along.
“I have noticed that the Formula One fire is once again burning within me,” he told the German newspaper Bild. “I can understand Michael’s decision 100 per cent and I would not have hesitated for a second. You can’t stop the passion: racing was and is our life and we have always looked for challenges.”
Ralf Schumacher, 34, retired from Formula One in 2007 and drove for Mercedes in the DTM touring car series the past two seasons. Although he spent his time in Formula One in the shadow of his record-setting older brother, Ralf Schumacher had a successful Formula One career, winning six races with his last coming in the 2003 French Grand Prix.
