What’s new for Mazda CX-5 for 2014?

You can call it a small SUV, crossover or even a compact/small family vehicle. Of course we are talking about Mazda CX-5. Introduced a year ago in Frankfurt, Mazda CX-5 is the second bestselling vehicle for the brand. For 2014, it comes with a new Skyactiv engine upsized to 2.5 liters producing 184 horsepower with 185 pound of torque. This is an improvement for 2014 over the previous 2.0 liter engine and will come in Touring and Grand Touring trims. Price of the new 2014 Mazda CX-5 is set from $ 21,395 to $ 29,070.

The front wheel drive Mazda CX-5 deliver EPA estimated 25 city and 32 highway mpg and the all-wheel drive delivers 24 city and 30 highway mpg which will be bit less than that delivered by the previous 2.0 liter engine. Still the tank will be good for estimated 430 miles range because the new model managed to get a bit larger fuel tank. Also, the 2014 model weighs 14 pounds less than the previous. The 5.8-inch touch screen has been upgraded for 2014 to display received text messages and read messages for the convenience of the driver. Pandora applications will be an optional feature.
