Alonso fined for crossing pitlane entry
Former double world champion Fernando Alonso has been fined 10,000 Euros and given a reprimand for crossing the pitlane entry line during Friday practice at the European Grand Prix.
The Renault driver darted from the racing line for the final corner right across the solid white line that marks the entry to the pits early in the second free practice session, crossing of that white line is not allowed.
He was called to see the race stewards immediately after the session and, after admitting he made a mistake, he was issued with the fine and reprimand.
